One lucky driver will be celebrating the Angel of the North's tenth anniversary in style - by driving away a brand new car
To help celebrate a decade of the North's best loved landmark, Gateshead Council has a fantastic Kia 1.1 Picanto 2 in Soda Orange to win courtesy of Evans Halshaw Kia, on the Felling bypass.
The car on offer has been filled with plastic balls and we're asking the public to estimate how many are now inside.
The car's on display in the showroom now and for a chance to win this fantastic prize simply visit the dealership on the Felling Bypass as soon as possible.
The winner will be drawn at the exciting fun-filled Angel Party due to take place on Sunday 22 June 2008. The closing date for entries is 4pm the day of the Party.
Councillor Ian Mearns, deputy leader at Gateshead Council said:
"The angel party is set to be one of the great events of the summer in a fun-filled day for everyone who attends. It's going to be a great way of celebrating ten years of our amazing cultural icon.
"We hope everyone will enjoy a day of celebrations at the party but thanks to this giveaway with Evans Halshaw one lucky winner will drive away a brand new car."
Tim Sells, Sales Manager at Evans Halshaw Kia said:
"As Evans Halshaw has a significant presence in the north-east, and in Gateshead in particular, we're delighted and excited by the opportunity to share in the celebrations of the birthday of the country's most recognised landmark. Happy birthday Angel!"
The party will bring together local people, artists, musicians, dancers and promises to be one of the highlights of the Angel tenth anniversary celebrations.
This unique outdoor party will take place in the shadow of the iconic statue when the two football pitches will be turned into an Angel extravaganza offering film, music, merchandise, food and drink and lots, lots more! .
As well as a feast for the senses it will be a feast for the eyes, with party decorations galore - thanks to the BALTIC's team of freelance artists and local school children whose angelic ideas will help create a fun party atmosphere.
The Sage Gateshead will bring a heavenly combination of musicians who will entertain people with some angelic busking and spur of the moment song-writing workshops.
Local music organiser Generator are bringing three bands to the party making sure the right notes are hit throughout the day.
As well as music and dance there's also drama - courtesy of Seven Stories and Live Theatre.
A new short play will be performed at different times during the party. It will involve Seven Stories magnificent story telling armchair, a storyteller and a group of young people from Live Theatre's Youth Theatre. What's the play about? ….that would be telling!
