Flying kites is something every child should experience. Now Gateshead Council is offering families the chance to learn how to make their own kites to fly in the park.
Chinese artist Lip Lee is holding a kite making workshop in Saltwell Park next Saturday (13 June) which will show children and adults how to make kites and paper spinners using easy origami techniques.
Funded by Gateshead Council and Arts Council England, the workshop takes place from 10am - 12pm for younger children aged 5–8 and from 1pm – 3pm for 9 to 12 year-olds. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Tickets cost £2 per child. To book a place, please contact Hannah Mackay on 0191 433 6920 or email: Hannahmackay@gateshead.gov.uk
