The Medium Term Financial Strategy (MTFS) is a key part of the Council's Policy, Service Planning and Performance Management framework which aims to ensure that all revenue resources are directed towards delivery of Vision 2030 and the Gateshead Agreement. It also is an integral part of the Corporate Plan which sets out the six priorities of the Council. The Strategy describes the financial direction of the Council and outlines the financial pressures over a 3 year period.
The MTFS establishes how available resources will be allocated to services in line with Council priorities following extensive consultation with Councillors, residents and other stakeholders.
