Budget consultation 2015 - 17

As a result of significant cuts in government funding, Gateshead Council needs to reduce its expenditure by a further £46m over the next two years. This is in addition to the Council having already saved £90m since 2010.

To help inform the difficult decisions the Council will need to make when it sets its Annual Budget for 2015-16, we asked for your views on the draft proposals set out in the budget consultation report.

The consultation closed on 30 December 2014.

The Council’s Budget for 2015-16 will be the subject of a report to Cabinet on 24 February 2015 and approval sought by Council on 26 February 2015.

Comprehensive Impact Assessments

In order to ensure that decisions reached by the Council are fair, and do not have a negative impact on specific groups, or on the Council’s strategic aims, we have implemented a Comprehensive Impact Assessment (CIA) process.
