THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES (MEMBERS’ ALLOWANCES) (ENGLAND)
REGULATIONS 2003 (AS AMENDED)
The Local Authorities (Members’ Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003 provide that an authority must make a members’ allowances scheme before 1 April each year.
The Council is required to have regard to the recommendations of its Independent Remuneration Panel before making its scheme. The Council considered the report of the Panel at its meeting on 20 January 2011 and agreed to implement the new scheme on 1 April 2011.
