Keith Newman
Keith Newman has a passion for all things nautical and in particular the River Tyne. He has his own PR company - Highlights Public Relations and manages media relations on behalf of the project. When he isn't writing about the project, he gets out his wellingtons and overalls and manages the River Bank Raid events. Stuart Norman
Planning Officer within the Environmental Strategy Team at Gateshead Council. Manages a number of conservation schemes, advises on proposals affecting listed buildings and conservation areas and helps promote Gateshead's built heritage.
Responsible for the day to day management of the Clean Tyne Project, providing a co-ordinating role with the other project partners and trying to match Newcastle's renowned 'Bank-Raid' grub

Phil Hartley
Team Manager for the Land Contamination Section at Newcastle City Council. Has managed many of the Council's large Contaminated Land remediation projects including: Byker City Farm, Walker Road Allotments, St Anthony's Tar Works.
Clean Tyne Project: Represents Newcastle City Council on the Clean Tyne Project Management Group Meeting. Also assists in organising River Bank Raids on the Tyne foreshore in Newcastle and participates in the making of the famous buffet lunches provided for volunteers

Veronica Jukes, Senior Environmental Protection Officer, South Tyneside Council
Veronica’s role involves implementing South Tyneside’s Coastal Management Strategy, she is involved in various coastal and flood defence projects, such as the coastal protection scheme of Trow Quarry, which was completed in October 2008. Veronica has also been involved in the development of the north east’s Shoreline Management Plan (SMP2), River Tyne to Flamborough Head, which is due to be finalised and agreed by all partners in the near future; the plan provides management policies for the north east coastline for the next 100 years. Watercourse management is also an essential part of Veronica’s role; she is a member of the Clean Tyne Project

Mark Skinner and David Houshby crew the Clearwater on behalf of the project. They are a familiar sight on the river and as well as collecting debris they have even rescued people from the water

Jayne Calvert
Officer within the Natural Environment Team. Jayne manages a number of other environmental projects including the Volunteer Countrysdie Rangers.
Responsible for the day to day management of the Clean Tyne Project, providing a co-ordinating role with the other project partners and likes to get hands on with the vessels.
