The Council has a statutory duty to enforce health and safety at work legislation at most non-industrial/factory workplaces such as shops, offices, catering premises, places of entertainment and service providers such as launderettes and tyre/exhaust fitting premises.
The Council carries out these duties through the inspection of premises and the investigation of complaints and accidents.
