We have made contacts with the following organisations.
Teams Children's Centre
We would like to focus on meeting parents and make links with the Children's Centre to help promote our services and work closely with Helen to build up strong links – this is a new children's centre which is not yet established. Wherever we go Lisa and I direct people to this new service.
The Teams Support Group
Monthly meetings at Tyneview Primary School – meets regularly to discuss local issues.
Asylum Group
Based at Bensham Community Centre (every Wednesday 1-2pm)– all members of the BME community meet to discuss all issues – everyone welcome – Council employees (Environmental Services, Housing, Community Police) also attend meetings to help solve local issues.
Health Trainer Promotion
On 16th and 17th of April all Health Trainers will be working in the Inner West Area (Dunston, Swalwell and Teams) to promote the Health Trainer Service. We will be available at various locations on 23rd of April to discuss health issues with the general public and point them in the right direction to make healthy changes to their lifestyles.
Dunston Health Visitors
Met on 16th January at their monthly meeting to tell them about our services – hopefully we will be working very closely with them in the future and get referrals from them.
Teams Family Centre
We have arranged a regular Health Trainer drop in on Wednesday afternoons (12. – 3.30) monthly (1st Wed of each month) and every 2 weeks pop in to see parents attending groups to discuss the HT role with them (alternative Mon/Tues and Thurs 10 – 11am).
Dunston Activity Centre
We have arranged a regular Health Trainer drop in every Thursday morning (11 – 1pm).
