What is Supported Living?

Supported living is an alternative to residential care in providing support and accommodation to people who are assessed as eligible for services under Fairer Access to Care|.

The difference is that in supported living, the housing provider and support provider are separate, and the service user has a licence, tenancy or is the owner of the property.

There are different ways of living in a supported living service, some people perfer to live alone, and some people prefer to share a home.

The aim of supported living is to provide support to adults with a learning disability, enabling them to live in their own homes within the community.

Who can provide this service?
