Gateshead Council provides and commissions a range of supported living services for people with learning disabilities across the borough.
Support workers are employed to assist with day to day living, and to encourage and motivate people to live as they choose in homes of their choice. Support workers will promote self reliance, independence and encourage people to reach their full potential.
Support is provided in a flexible way ranging from a few hours each day to 24 hour support. In those services where people have chosen to share a home, support workers will ensure that the needs of everyone who shares the property are met in a person centred individual way.
