What does the service provide?
The Housing Support element of the service provides low level tenancy related support to people living in their own homes. Advice and support is provided to help people maintain their tenancy and to live safely and securely. The Family Support element is providing support to people living at home with their Family either in the persons own home or in accessing the community. This support provides a short break to both the person with a learning disability and their carer.
Who provides the support?
Staff employed by Gateshead Council.
Who can use the service?
People can apply or be referred to the service if they:

Have a learning disability

Are over 18 years of age
-
Live in Gateshead.

Are in receipt of Housing Benefit if applying for Housing related support.

Have an Assessment of Need if requiring Family Support
Is there a charge?
The Housing Support element is funded through the Supporting People Programme.
A financial assessment would decide the financial contribution needed to receive the Family Support element of the service.
