Warden Service

 
   

Within the first week the warden will visit the resident to welcome them to their new home and will explain everything they need to know about living in sheltered accommodation. The Following standards can be expected to be met when residents are linked to this service, the warden will:

  • Call 5 days a week to see how the residents are;
  • Respond to emergencies and liaise with appropriate agencies;
  • Check equipment;
  • Help to organise social activities for residents;
  • Be non-judgemental, practise good confidentiality and have good communication and observation skills.

The warden will explain:

  • The facilities;
  • Laundry arrangements (if applicable);
  • Keys;
  • Fire test and drills (if applicable);
  • Equipment checks;
  • Give a tour of the building scheme;
  • Demonstrate equipment.
