Linkup in Gateshead is a partnership arrangement that exists with local organisations in the community. It includes Partners such as

  • Age Concern Gateshead
  • The Tyne and wear Fire Authority
  • The Gateshead Housing Company
  • Anchor Staying Put
  • Rowlands Gill and Chopwell Live at Home Schemes
  • The Older Peoples Assembly
  • Community Health
  • The Department of Works and Pensions
  • Gateshead Libraries
  • Gateshead Council services including Shopping Service
  • Gateshead Care Call
  • and others such as Airs and Warmzone.

This has been a very successful partnership that has established an opportunity for people 50+ to get information about, befriending, group support, repairs and gardening help and get benefits advice to promote people 50+ living independently in their own home.

The film has been made to help people understand what Linkup is, why it was started and how it has benefited people.
