Gateshead Children's Trust

Children's Trusts meet the requirements of the Children Act 2004 that agencies must cooperate to improve the wellbeing of all children and young people. are local partnership arrangements to improve children's well-being.

The role of the Board is to:

Be the single, strategic body responsible for ensuring all services co-operate to improve outcomes for local children and young people.
Act as a themed partnership for children and young people within the Gateshead Strategic partnership’s family of partnerships
Champion the holistic needs of children and young people and their families and supports a partnership approach across Gateshead in order to address those needs and improve children and young people’s wellbeing.
Develop the Children and Young People’s Plan for Gateshead setting out how we will coordinate activity against the agreed priorities, underpinned by our Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) www.gateshead.gov.uk/jsna
