We're committed to providing a high level of pre and post adoption support to all of our potential and successful adopters which includes the following:

An allocated a social worker from the Adoption Team who is on hand to provide advice and assistance throughout the process

The opportunity to have contact with experienced adopters and support groups through the Council or independent or external providers.

A dedicated team to assist if the child is experiencing difficulties post adoption
In addition, we may be able to help by providing the following financial support:

If appropriate, giving you a grant to cover any items you need in the early stages of the placement such as equipment. This is a one-off payment.

Paying reasonable expenses incurred during the introduction period, including travel costs and the costs of overnight stays where necessary, up to an agreed limit. You will be given full details nearer the time.

In some circumstances you may be eligible for ongoing financial support which is paid according to legal regulations. This is something your social worker will discuss with you.

Payment of legal fees.
