Pathways to employment and enterprise

Objective 2:
To assist individuals to move towards employment, self-employment, education and training.  
ESF Revenue. Projects offering training and support including wellbeing and family interventions. Unemployed and economically inactive in the CLLD area.  Training meeting the needs of target groups identified in the LDS. ESF contribution 50% minimum project cost £20,000
EU Budget Limit Lifetime of the project (excluding match)  ESF £1,121,655 

Outcomes 

Support 1700 participants resulting in:

  • 323 Participants in education or training on leaving
  • 272 Unemployed participants in employment, including self-employment on leaving
  • 124 Inactive participants into employment or job search on leaving

Objective 3:
Raising personal expectations and ambitions - building community spirit.

ESF Revenue. 
Promotion of entrepreneurialism

Unemployed and economically inactive in the CLLD area.  Animation project to promote the opportunities provided by self-employment. Support the development of progression routes.    ESF contribution 50% minimum project cost £20,000
EU Budget Limit Lifetime of the project (excluding match)  ESF £1,121,655

Workplace infrastructure

Providing business space and supporting the sustainability of community assets

Organisations including community  organisations,improvable space, new and existing businesses Development of local enterprise hubs that provides business space in local communities and networking opportunities.  ERDF contribution 60% minimum project cost £20,000
EU Budget Limit Lifetime of the project (excluding match)   ERDF £300,000 
Outcomes

Supporting:

  • a minimum of 200 Sq m of new floor space 

Business creation

Objective 5: Supporting individuals to consider setting up a business/social enterprise  ERDF Revenue.  Business start-up and pre-start programmes.  Support must constitute 12 hours.  Individuals seeking support to be enterprise ready  Support local people to explore enterprise skills and pre start up programmes. Can be on a one to one basis or one to many ERDF contribution 60% minimum project cost £20,000.  
EU Budget Limit Lifetime of the project (excluding match)  ERDF £243,750  
Outcomes

Supporting

  • a minimum of 250 enterprise ready clients (12 hr assists)  

Business growth

Objective 6: 
Supporting existing businesses to grow and innovate 

ERDF Revenue. 
Providing information advice and support – networking and partnership support and training. Support must constitute 12 hours

Micro and small to medium businesses (including social enterprises) in the CLLD area

Business support projects focusing on growth and sustainability of new (0-12 months old) and existing (12 months +) business creating job opportunities for collaboration networks.    ERDF contribution 60% minimum project cost £20,000. 
EU Budget Limit Lifetime of the project (excluding match) ERDF £243,750  
Outcomes

Support to:

  • 100 existing  enterprises       
  • 75 new enterprises supported
  • Creation of 55 jobs in new / existing enterprises

The CLLD wards are: Dunston and Teams, Bridges, Felling, Pelaw and Heworth, Wardley and Leam Lane, Windy Nook and Whitehills, High Fell, Chowdene, Low Fell, Deckham, Saltwell and Lobley Hill and Bensham. However, eligibility relates to the LSOA’s included in the LDS therefore please use the CLLD checker on the Council website to ensure project eligibility.
