Sector Support for Engineering Businesses

New Support for Engineering Businesses

Gateshead is home to many businesses in the engineering sector. Because the sector is very important to our local economy, and because the industry is continuously facing challenges, the council wants support engineering businesses. We have just begun formulating a programme of assistance and need to talk to you to find out what we can do to help.

We intend to work with groups of companies and develop a representative forum to make sure that businesses themselves steer activities.

The programme will cover areas such as:

  • Businesses to work together, not in an ad-hoc way, but organised and evolving;
  • Sharing best practise, knowledge and skills;
  • The identification of procurement and sales opportunities.

Please help us to help you by sharing your ideas and talking to us about what you need.

If you would like to find out more, please contact Keith Harrison on 0191 477 3747 or e-mail economicdevelopment@gateshead.gov.uk|. Alternatively, you can register your interest| here on the web and we will contact you shortly.
