Reporting accidents and ill health at work is a legal requirement under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995 ( RIDDOR ).
If you are an employer, self-employed or in control of work premises you must report the following:

Deaths – including members of the public

Major injuries – including members of the public taken to hospital

Accidents resulting in over 3 day injury
-
Reportable Diseases
-
Dangerous occurrences
-
Gas incidents.
All accidents, diseases and dangerous occurrences must be reported to the Incident Contact Centre which is a single point of contact for receiving all incidents in the UK.
