If you are looking to recruit staff in the retail, hospitality and customer service sectors, then Gateshead Council’s annual September jobs fair is for you.
Every year, we bring together a wide range of employers in one place, all with one aim: to recruit local people for the jobs they have on offer.
Taking place on 14 September at The Sage Gateshead, 10am-3pm, the event is free and is one of the most popular events in our council calendar. Last year we attracted 1,366 people, our largest number of visitors ever and it’s expected that this year’s event will be just as successful.
Jobseekers can not only meet prospective employers and find out what jobs are on offer, but also get a range of advice and information from the Council’s Economic Development Service. Companies attending gain an excellent, cost free opportunity to meet high volumes of good quality applicants thus solving their recruitment needs in a simple concentrated fashion. Employers already signed up for the event include: Debenhams, John Lewis, The Listening Company and Spark Response.
Cabinet Member for Employment, Councillor Malcolm Graham said: “We are committed to do everything we can to help local people back into work and support businesses to find the employees they need. The jobs fair is a practical example of this, bringing job hunters together with those with jobs under one roof.”
