We work closely with Northumbria Police to provide a property security service to a variety of the Council groups and operate the Business Watch scheme on the East Gateshead Industrial Estate. We also offer advice and recommendations on how to improve security.

The Control Room, based at Shearlegs Road Head Quarters:

• has state-of-the-art CCTV  surveillance
• operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
• is in constant radio contact with all its duty personnel.

We also offer the following specialist security services:

• Security marking
• Installation of radio alarm equipment

In an average week the Security Service can expect to:

• Spend over 300 man hours on CCTV surveillance
• Respond to more than 50 alarm activations
• Carry out over 1,800 security checks on premises
• Drive 2,500 miles on patrol or to perform tasks
• Deal with a substantial number of crimes, incidents and emergencies
