The Council, in partnership with the Borough's public, private and community sectors, will continue to develop Gateshead as a town of national and international significance and ensure it is the best place to live, work and visit.
The Council drives forward this ongoing process by facilitating, developing and implementing regeneration on a range of sites across the borough through the production of planning guidance, working in partnership with relevant organisations and a commitment to creating a sustainable, high quality built environment.
The various regeneration initiatives are grouped geographically under Gateshead's five neighbourhood areas: Central|, East|, Inner West|, South |and West|. Those regeneration initiatives taking place in Gateshead's Centre| and Quays areas can be found within Gateshead Centre. Some initiatives cover more than one area and can be found under Gateshead wide|.
