New social housing is being built at Carlisle Street in the Brandling area of Felling.
24 new homes will be on offer. These include 11 apartments specially designed for elderly residents and 13 family-sized houses.
Galliford Try are building them and they will be managed by HOME.
Local residents got the chance to comment on the proposed designs for the site. The new homes will be complete by summer of 2012.
