The Development Control Section is responsible for determining your planning applications. These pages enable you to interact with the service; obtain necessary information and guidance and view/comment on the planning applications themselves.
Our planning applications list is updated each week and made available online via our Public Access for Planning| service, where you can view, track and comment on applications, decision notices and associated documents.
Building work may also require and application under the Building Regulations|.
To contact the Development Control Section of the Council, please refer to the phone, fax or email details under the 'Contact Us' section on this page.
A separate source of help and advice on planning issues is also available through the services of Planning Aid North (PAN). PAN is an independent charity (not part of the Council) providing free professional advice on planning issues to community groups and individuals. It is aimed at those who cannot afford to pay for the services of a planning consultant. It also works directly with communities to help them understand, and play a role in, the planning process.
If you are seeking independent advice, PAN operates a telephone helpline, staffed by a qualified planner. The helpline number is 0870 850 9803.
