Planning Enforcement

The Enforcement Team is responsible for investigating and taking action against unlawful developments, non-compliance with planning conditions and other breaches of planning legislation.

Enforcement Records

Gateshead Council provides public access to its enforcement register| which is updated in real time.

You can also view enforcement notices and breach of condition notices served in the past 5 years.

These details are updated within 5 working days of the service of the notice.

Reporting a breach of planning control

The public are often the first to notice breaches of planning control and these can be reported to the Council either by telephone or by using the online reporting form.
