High Hedges
The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM ) is currently drawing up regulations that would give local authorities the powers to deal with complaints about high hedges that are having an adverse effect on a neighbours enjoyment of their property.
Until the complaints system is fully operational, it is not possible for the Council to take any action with regards to problem hedges. However, the Council has established a 'Register of Interest' to record any enquiries received from members of the public. This means that the Council will be able to write to everyone on the register once it is in a position to proceed. If you would like to be included on the register of interest you should contact Lesley Newman on telephone number 0191 433 3456 or by e-mail|.
