In April 2010 the Council in partnership with Burrows produced a Guide to Development Management so as to explain to all our customers the various planning functions within Gateshead within the Development and Enterprise Group (D&E).
The guide is attached as a pdf below but is also available in hardback within many public buildings such as Council libraries, community centres and also at the Civic Centre at our reception areas.
The guide includes explanations behind how to make a planning application or pre application enquiry as well as the work of area planning in terms of regeneration and the planning policy context which includes spatial planning. The enforcement of planning and the work of building regulations are highlighted along with frequently asked questions and useful contacts.
The intention will be to update the guide annually/18months
