Pupils from Dunston Hill Community Primary School, Dunston Riverside Community Primary school and St Philip Neri RC Primary School have met with officers working for Coleman and Co, the demolition contractors who are currently in the process of demolishing Derwent Tower and the maisonettes ready for the site's redevelopment to provide better facilities for local people - including new homes, shops, a doctors’ surgery and open spaces
The dangers of going onto sites whilst demolition is in process was explained to the young people and they then created posters to highlight the dangers. The posters will be displayed around the perimeter fencing of the demolition site whilst the works are carried out.
