Possible Council Tax Scam
There have been some cases reported where householders have been contacted by scammers stating that they are due to a Council Tax reduction and refund. An initial payment is requested to release the refund. We would never telephone to ask for a payment to release a Council Tax overpayment or your bank details. Please do not make any payment or give your details. If you need to confirm if a call is genuine you can contact Council Tax on 0191 433 3600.
